Winton Brewery recently announced that they have acquired the Station Yard micropub in Dunbar. The Station Yard is adjacent to Dunbar Railway Station and only a few minutes’ walk from Dunbar High Street and only two miles from the brewery itself.
Winton Brewery will be taking over on the 1st of April. Visitors to the micropub will be able to enjoy a brilliant selection of drinks, including Winton Brewery’s own range of beers- Peelywally, Barry Swally, Oh Ya Bassa, and their new Brewgooder Global Gathering stout (the name and detail are still a secret!). The micropub, which also has an attractive beer garden, will also be offering a variety of local beers, Scottish gins and whisky and wines. We caught up with Steve and David from Winton Brewery to find out a little bit more about their new venture:
“We are absolutely delighted to be taking over the Station Yard micropub and continuing the cracking business model successfully employed by Gerard and the late David. There will be some subtle differences to the business over the coming months with more of our amazing beers introduced but also a wider range of rotational beers from our favourite breweries (selecting these is the most exciting part for us!). We will also be installing a traditional beer engine to serve some more traditional cask ales.”
“Our customers can expect an even higher quality of artisan beers, gins, whisky, and wines all served with the same great attention to detail and banter. We will offer our customers the opportunity to live by our mantra: drink, blether, be happy.”
“We plan to extend the opening hours, have more events both inside and in the beer garden and even introduce a monthly food truck event. Our customers can also come along to our weekly meet the brewer event, where Nolan (our head brewer) will be serving and discussing the beers which he delicately creates.”
“All in all, extremely exciting times ahead for us at Winton Brewery, the Station Yard micropub and, most importantly, the people of Dunbar! Beer with personality! Massive slàinte from Steve and David.”
