Queen Margaret University
The Scottish Centre for Food Development and Innovation (SCFDI) at Queen Margaret University was established in response to demand from Scotland’s high growth food and drink industry for combined R&D and innovation space. We have an increasing portfolio of clients from micro enterprises to high growth companies. Our practical innovation support can help companies with:
- New and innovative product development and analysis
- Reformulation of existing products – lowering fat sugar and salt
- Consumer testing, focus groups and taste panels
Our market position at the forefront of innovation provides an enhanced capacity to allow us to progress sustainable relationships with industry partners, particularly SMEs. In addition we are advancing plans to support innovation in food and drink through proposals for QMU Innovation Park (QMUIP) located on the land that surrounds our Musselburgh Campus QMU’s proposals for the Innovation Park will support economic development both locally and nationally.
The University is proud to support East Lothian Food and Drink BID/Scotlands Food and Drink County and we are keen to engage with food and drink businesses across the region
