We are pleased to introduce the newest member of Scotland’s Food & Drink County, luxury handmade chocolate business The Chocolate Stag – launched in November 2018 by the owners of Garleton Lodge, David and Angela Cockerton.
High quality food and drink has always been important to David and Angela. Prior to moving to the Middle East, the couple ran a successful handmade chocolate business, and whilst in the Middle East, Angela ran a successful catering and Cook School. In 2017, they opened their successful luxury hotel Garleton Lodge, and The Chocolate Stag quickly followed.
The Chocolate Stag produce a wide range of delicious handmade white, milk and dark chocolates, including champagne truffles, salted caramel truffles and rum truffles.
“Our range of handmade chocolates includes everyone’s favourites as well as our own creations often working in partnership with other food producers to create beautiful flavour pairings. Our main ingredient is natural, full flavour cocoa with minimal sugar, no added artificial flavours and no added fat. These high quality ingredients are hand-crafted to create chocolates with optimum flavour and texture.”
Our favourite is the Gin & Tonic Truffle, which incorporates delicious fresh cream and white chocolate ganache with Fidra Gin and lemon tonic water. These truffles are hand dipped in white chocolate and topped with grated lemon rind. Perfection!
Their chocolates are available online, from Garleton Lodge and selected stockists throughout East Lothian in boxes of 6, 12 and 24 individual chocolates. They are a fantastic gift for any loved one – or a special treat for yourself!
