We are absolutely delighted to announce Garleton Lodge as the first supporter of East Lothian, Scotland’s Food and Drink County! Garleton Lodge, which is owned by David and Angela Cockerton, is an excellent example of a local businesses that works hard to showcase how local produce can be used in an accommodation and restaurant environment to enhance the guest experience.
Garleton Lodge is a small hotel with eight en-suite rooms, a bar, restaurant, BBQ hut, outside bar, spa treatment room, hot tub and golf facilities. The restaurant at Garleton Lodge, which has been awarded Visit Scotland’s Taste Our Best Awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019, showcases mainly locally sourced ingredients. David and Angela work closely with East Lothian producers such as Belhaven Smokehouse, The Brand Family Larder and Yester Farm Dairies to create a wonderful menu that really emphasises the excellence of East Lothian produce.
The restaurant at Garleton Lodge is open to both residents and non-residents on Saturday nights (prior booking is essential). On other nights, the restaurant is open to residents only. Garleton Lodge also offer afternoon tea on the last Saturday of every month (prior booking essential) and the restaurant – which has spectacular, panoramic views across Edinburgh, the Forth and surrounding East Lothian countryside – can be booked for private events, family gatherings and special celebrations.
Garleton Lodge also has a fully stocked bar, which is named after local distillery Glenkinchie. The bar stocks a wide range of East Lothian favourites, such as beer from Hurly Burly Brewery Beer, gin from Fidra Gin and whisky from Glenkinchie Distillery.
